Maura Demi Portegies Zwart, professionally known as Maura Demi, is a Dutch filmmaker based in Amsterdam. Maura is a 20 year old full-time student at the University of Amsterdam, specializing in film theory. In her spare time, she creates short films with the limited resources available. Maura started making films in 2023 and found that this is where her passion lies. She has made 3 short films so far, 'No Silhouette' being the latest. Maura's main career goal is to touch people with the stories she tells: to make people see new perspectives on things. She is interested in showcasing moral dilemma's, subjective psychological distress, and interpersonal relations. She hopes to make a full feature with a premiere at one of the 'big five' film festivals one day.
